Not particularly. Joe Biden is a dedicated and accomplished public servant. Unlike Ryan and his admirers, Biden doesn't try to portray himself as a big thinker.

Nice.

Speaking of ideology isn't it impossible to have a 'plan' without involving ideology at some level?...
Yes. Every plan or budget is an expression of its proponent's ideology. A plan/budget is of no use, though, unless it also has substance. Ryan's plan is touted as a serious document. It's not. It's assumptions are preposterous. I doubt that even he believes in them. It's all ideology and no substance.

....I've looked at the Ryan plan and I see a great deal of substance. Since you appear to be a person that is bothered by the lack of substance and seriousness maybe you could help me out by telling me exactly what Mr "I'm going to cut the deficit in half in my first term" plan is to deal with our annual 1 trillion dollar deficits?...
That would be a big job. I'm sure there will be time between now and November to see the contrast between the competing visions.

...Please don't respond by telling me the Ryan plan doesn't actually balance the budget in the next 10-20 years, I realize it doesn't but at least it moves us in the right direction.
It does no such thing.

Not really. It's more along the lines of the LGBT movement picking a heterosexual as its chairperson. You go with what you got.

I bet sarah is disappointed. Wonder if she’ll hold a press conference, once she, ya know, finishes crying and puts some lipstick on her bulldog.

Whatever that really is.

Fmr Gov. Plain is way too busy being paid for being unaccountable to be disappointed. That takes the sting out of the debacle that was the 2008 campaign.

But just think of the irony of her appearing disappointed with Romney’s choice for VP.
The image brings a smile.

Yeah, the social conservative vote is safely in the bag for Romney. There's nothing that would get the wing nuts to vote for Obama.

That's the thing though. There are people in this country in both parties that are not white Christian males who are quite intelligent, well spoken and who have good ideas. I do not agree with the assumption that neither party can find people other than white Christian males to run this country into the ground. There are minorities and females who are just as capable of the task.

In 200 some odd years we have had Ferraro, Palin and Obama who ran for the WH. Women make up over 50% of the US population. The fact that there have only been two candidates to the WH is insulting.

Yeah, what could be funnier than a Larry Craig moment from Paul Ryan.

Just goes to show that self-loathing is a long held GOP party platform issue…

Yeah, like Humble Joe does in this video?

1988 Road to the White House with Sen. Biden - YouTube

You can do the fact check of Biden's specific claims of his academic prowess and accomplishments that he makes in that video and get back to everyone with what you find out on that. Everyone deserves a good laugh, "dedicated and accomplished public servant"!

I agree. When Reagan ran for office he was elected because the voters saw someone who at least sounded like they were willing to take on the big problems. Not just for the 1%, but for everyone.

It didn't quite work out that way, but at least then the Republicans gave it their all for the entire country. Now the Republican party has abandoned at least 50% of the country and is working hard to ditch almost everyone else. Social policy is what matters: Do it my way or else!

And the only proof anyone needs is the results from the 2010 elections. Republicans ran on Jobs, Jobs, Jobs, and they have done nothing but block any job bill put before them. But boy are they strong on abortion bills.

And....

I remember seeing Paul Ryan making a speech before the 2010 elections where he admitted the Republican Party had lied and failed to do anything to make the country a better place after the 2008 election.

But that was OK because they had heard the voice of the public and had reformed! Then Ryan begged for one more chance, and swore if the Republicans had the majority in the House they would turn the country around with a serious jobs program.

And if they failed in this then they should be thrown out of office because they did not deserve to be in the job.

So I saw everyone should line up behind Ryan and do just what he asked us all to do: Throw out every Republican for failing at turning the country around.

It's what they would want you to do.
