Another republican makes a stupid comment about rape

Quote:
"First of all, from what I understand from doctors [pregnancy after rape] is really rare," Akin told KTVI-TV in defense of his stand that rape victims should not be allowed to access abortions. "If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down."

...as opposed to illegitimate rape? What a dumb ass. I guess women are too stupid to be allowed to control their own body with out the republican nanny state watching over them.

GOP Senate candidate says he ‘misspoke’ with ‘legitimate rape’ comment

His personal views..........not surprising.

The stupidity of openly stating same in a political race.............confirms my statements about the "average person".

This is a GOOD thing -- he just showed his true colors and lost himself 51% of the vote. Always nice to see a buffoon take himself out of politics.

Just another episode of moron theatre

The Republican party: Home for greedheads, imbeciles, bank lovers, bribe takers, shameless war mongers, draped in the American flag and sanctimoniously declaiming themselves to be "the true patriots" and "Conservatives"

A pox be upon the lot of them

Who thinks it's fine to spent money for your opponent which you believe you have a better chance at winning against? That's as bad as the stupid statement of the Rep IMHO.

... McCaskill's campaign spent $2 million to run ads that boosted Akin as the "true conservative" during the three-way primary race for the Republican nod ...

By the way..... A recent Washington Post poll found that 17% of the voters agree with Akin.

The only problem I have with this is that Paul Ryan is a part of that 17%.

But in the end I really don't think this is matter to most Republicans. As one of them told me last night: It is more important to make Libs upset than it is to run the country correctly.

And who can argue with logic like that?

How do you know PR is part of that 17%?

I had a dipshidiot tell me something idiotic last night and I'm sure somehow I could put them in a group- so now I can disagree with all of that groups views. I can also say with certainty that all members of the group feel exactly the same as that person. ???

We'd have to define "can" in order to start a valid conversation.

Many republican views are silly. Many democratic views are silly. I think the nation and society is better off with a combination leaning slightly right of center with many libertarian stances mixed in. The only perfect candidate is yourself.

Ryan is on record as stating this many times. A short check of the Google will show this.

And yes, there are a lot of stupid people out there that say stupid thing. But I have been hearing this comment over and over for the last two years, so it is not something Conservatives have just come up with. It is just a way to justify not thinking for themselves and not having to deal with the far right wing of their party.

One of the Founding Fathers put it much better than I can: Arguing with one who has abandoned logic is like giving medicine to the dead.

Conservatives are the ones who have let these people get out of control. If you are ashamed of their views you should say so and not try to defend them.

You asked who thought it was fine. I simply answered your question.

Many see Rush as the true leader of the Republican Party. I don't, but if he says jump Republicans hop to.

When Republicans stop slobbering all over this guy your comment might have some validity. I am, however, glad to see there is at least one person out there that feels the way you do.

The sanity has to start somewhere. When the history of the demise of the Republican Party is written Rush will have his own chapter about how he helped to bring it about.

But, as Conservatives are quick to point out, Rush makes $57,000,000 a year so he must always be right!
