I find it interesting that people put all sorts of medications, prescription and otherwise; all of which have small print advisories about possible liver complications, and over-processed chemical laced high fat poisonous "food" through their livers in addition to alcohol, but when they end up sick, booze takes the blame.

I have a close friend who takes about 6 prescription meds a day and lives on tylenol and greasy fast food. He suffered near liver failure, was comatose and was brought around in the hospital. He now takes even more meds, and has been told he can't ever touch alcohol, not even an O'Douls. Not a single doctor has ever questioned the prescriptions he takes, only piled on more. Not a single doc has ever asked him about his diet or mentioned it in passing. Yeah, he drank, but I have to wonder if he drank, had a decently healthy diet and didn't take all those meds with potential liver complications if he'd have gotten sick at all.
I mentioned it in conversation with my own doctor, who is pretty progressive, and even he just raised his eyebrows and wouldn't comment. I think they're afraid to touch the subject.
