My liver made a deal with me. My liver said if I STOPPED drinking, that it would allow me to live.

I thought it was your wife whose liver failed?

I find it interesting that people put all sorts of medications, prescription and otherwise; all of which have small print advisories about possible liver complications, and over-processed chemical laced high fat poisonous "food" through their livers in addition to alcohol, but when they end up sick, booze takes the blame.

He now takes even more meds, and has been told he can't ever touch alcohol, not even an O'Douls. Not a single doctor has ever questioned the prescriptions he takes, only piled on more. Not a single doc has ever asked him about his diet or mentioned it in passing. Yeah, he drank, but I have to wonder if he drank, had a decently healthy diet and didn't take all those meds with potential liver complications if he'd have gotten sick at all.
I mentioned it in conversation with my own doctor, who is pretty progressive, and even he just raised his eyebrows and wouldn't comment. I think they're afraid to touch the subject.

Howzabout corn sweetener? It is added to practically everything (even stuff that isn't sweet!) and all you can hear is how obese the USA is. Jeez, how hard is that to figure out?

Right. Most people want their goodies sweet and they want them cheap and they don't care what's in them.
Not just fat, researchers are also connecting the dots between HFCS and non alcoholic liver disease.

High fructose corn syrup linked to liver scarring, research suggests
