Hes a politician. We need someone new to lie to us. Obama is too predictable and a real yawner.

You're welcome, of course, to characterize it in any way you deem appropriate, and that you choose to do so in a way that supports your beliefs is not a surprise; you're human, after all. I for one can't imagine that the administration folks didn't discuss it before they started talking, and while they may indeed have been speaking without all of the facts, it wasn't just one person's opinion that it was unorganized chaos resulting from a movie. Of course I can't forget that BO himself is good at speaking without all of the facts (the Gates episode was atrocious) so this isn't terribly surprising.

Perhaps Romney should have just introduced his latest remarks with "my views have been evolving..." or does that only work for your candidate?

Understand that I don't like Romney much, either, and wish we actually had some real choices. But this is the crap our two party system serves up. And I have the benefit of living in a state that throws all of its electoral votes at the ass every election, so I have the freedom of voting my conscience and ignoring both of these idiots.

Some would argue that America's own are hell bent on self destruction too. Others are clueless.
Count me among the former.

BTW, Time's cover story this week about Blue Truth, Red Truth

........"Human beings are simply more willing to believe falsehoods that confirm their worldview. In July, 17% of voters told pollsters for the Pew Research Center that Obama is a Muslim, an increase from just 12% in October 2008. Within the GOP, this fiction was believed by 30%, up from 16% in 2008, and the increase was more pronounced among those with college educations than among those without. The President is a Christian. There is no credible information to suggest otherwise. But for many caught up in the passions of politics, the facts are not conclusive.

Instead the public increasingly takes issue with those who deliver the facts. Gallup recently recorded the highest levels of distrust in the media since it began measuring this sentiment in 1998. Only 40% of the country, including just 26% of Republicans and 31% of independents, express a great deal or a fair amount of trust in the mass media to report the news fully, accurately and fairly. “In the past, the press effectively played the role of umpire,” explains Chris Lehane, a Democratic campaign consultant who served as press secretary of Al Gore’s 2000 campaign. “Now they are effectively in the bleachers.”

The result is a landscape where accuracy is largely in the eye of the beholder. If you ask voters which candidate is fooling the public, the answers vary by political disposition. A recent poll by the Washington Post and ABC News found that 76% of Romney voters believe Obama is “intentionally misleading” voters. As it happened, the exact same share of Obama supporters believe Romney is “intentionally misleading.” Only 17% of Romney voters and 12% of Obama voters were willing to say their own man had deceived.

........."To see just how easy it is to be fooled, one need only visit the controlled confines of the university laboratory. In the spring of 2006, Nyhan and his research partner Jason Reifler of Georgia State University gathered conservative and liberal students to test their resistance to factual information. They asked the group to read an article that included President George W. Bush’s claim that his tax cuts had increased revenue for the U.S. Treasury, which was provably false. Then they added a factual correction: the Bush tax cuts led to a three-year decline in tax revenue, from $2 trillion in 2000 to $1.8 trillion in 2003.

The correction worked among liberals, but among conservatives it produced a curious backfire effect: conservatives were nearly twice as likely to say the Bush tax cuts increased revenue after they had been told this was not true. Such distortions are not limited to the conservative mind. The researchers presented an article showing John Kerry’s claim from 2004 that he would “lift the ban on stem-cell research” imposed by Bush, followed by corrective information: Bush never actually banned stem-cell research; he prevented federal money from funding research on a subset of embryos. The true information had a corrective effect for conservatives and moderates but no impact on liberals. Once again, personal views had intervened. “The more we care about politics and the more it becomes central to our worldview, the more threatening it becomes to admit that we are wrong or our side is wrong,” Nyhan concludes. The studies show that facts that contradict our biases actually have the effect of reinforcing them.

So, by staying on a state level as opposed to a federal level, RomneyCare averted the subsidy of the poor issue that you discuss above? Why didn't RomneyCare subsidize poorer sections of Massachusetts? Did RomneyCare make those poorer sections of the state self-supporting?

According to this Wikipedia excerpt, Romney's plan is pretty generous to the poor of Massachusetts, but then again its a relatively rich state.
Quote:
Commonwealth Care is one of the newest subsidized health insurance programs offered by the Commonwealth, and is a key part of Health Care Insurance Reform in Massachusetts. It is designed primarily for income-eligible Massachusetts adult residents who are not otherwise eligible for MassHealth (Medicaid), who either do not work or who work for employers that do not offer health insurance. Specifically, it allows eligible residents access to certain subsidized private insurance health plans – currently a choice of five plans – for individuals without health insurance who make below 300% of the federal poverty level.[27] There are no deductibles. For individuals below 150% of the federal poverty level, no premiums will be charged; for those below the poverty level, dental insurance is also provided. For those above 150% of the federal poverty level, a sliding scale premium schedule based on income is used to determine the amount of money a person contributes to their policy.[27] Commonwealth Care for those below poverty has been available through the Connector since October 1, 2006. Plans for those between 100% and 300% of the poverty line have been available since January 1, 2007. As of June 2009, 177,000 people had enrolled in Commonwealth Care according to the Massachusetts Department of Healthcare Finance and Policy. The five Massachusetts health plans contracted with the state to serve the Commonwealth Care population as of April 2010 include: Boston Medical Center HealthNet Plan, CeltiCare, Fallon Community Health Plan, Neighborhood Health Plan, and Network Health. Celticare is offered by a for-profit insurance company, Centene, of St. Louis, MO and the rest are offered by Massachusetts-based non-profits.
I'm not sure how a state like Mississippi or Alabama would handle this, or whether they even would try.

Check the fine print. The peace on earth is free. You gotta sign up and tithe for the enlightenment and the underwear. Shoot.

On the other hand, you can have an abortion. Or not. Or a tax cut. Or not. Whatever you want. Or don't want. Or something.

I'm in! I want one of those for each side of my mouth.

Without raising taxes or increasing fees.

The check is in the mail.

If you went over to a grocery store and compared the prices to the prices of four years ago, you'll understand what the wholesale printing of money has caused.

Inflation is now running rampant due to the devaluation of the dollar, and the public is too stupid to understand it.
Is it really? Except for the price of petroleum products, I haven't noticed that much of a change in consumer prices. The cost of borrowing certainly has gone down, I'm thinking about refinancing my home for the third time in four years, this time for a rate of about 3%, which everyone tells me is pretty low.

............then you obviously haven't been to a grocery store.

Clothing is up markedly as well.

Most people don't notice it because it's a gradual increase over four years. But, printing money must result in this increase because the value of a dollar will continue to fall.

Sadly, you're just like all the Obama supporters............blind to the facts.
