Dinner is served

I had not smoked anything for quite some time so I got a pork shoulder from Costco, marinated it for 2 days and voila.... Dinner

Looks very very good!

Yesterday evening we went to a small bar in a small town near here and split the ten oz Filet Mignon. It is less than twenty dollars. We split the potato and got an extra salad. If I hadn't gotten a Jack Daniels it would have been less than twenty five with the tip, IIRC.

Delicious too.

We often run into the same folks there on Friday nights, including people with enough dough to eat at the fancy smanchy places.

I've got two shelves in the freezer filled with pork shoulder (AKA pork picnic and pork butt). Giant Eagle has the price locked in on it at $1.49 per pound until Jan 2nd.

I smoked one the other night for BBQ sandwiches, and I'll do another one next week for carnitas.
