You cannot pick and choose favorites.

I believe churches were granted tax immunity because of the good they do in the community--who has built more hospitals than the RC church?

But then, do you want to tax a mission that provides meals because it takes business away from restaurants? Difficult to see where to fairly draw the line.
While I agree with what you said, surely you see that by injecting yourself into the equation, you are now a combatant and not an innocent bystander and should be treated as such. Perhaps I am reading you wrong when you talked about James feeling that the faith has to have an impact on lives or decisions to indicate that it is license to interfere in other's lives. And by other's, I mean those who choose not to believe in the faith or certain aspects of it. As I have asked before, why is it so impossible for the faith to simply keep to itself and police itself instead of trying to spread it to others who might or might not be interested?

Who has contributed more to the molestation of kids and other past activities that are somewhat unsavory? I could probably dig into the history books and cite a few good things that Hitler did but does that erase some of the nasty things?

Where is the difficulty? You operate a business, you get taxed. Nobody gets special treatment.

Works for me! A properly run Church should be making no profit to be taxed in the first place.

I'm not sure what you mean. I would, though, like to think that you understand that not all Churches are the same. Not all people are the same....not all schools are the same.....not all businesses are the same.....so why would all Churches be the same?

You are generally q moral and honest person. It's kind of sad to see you thinking that ALL Churches are the deceptive organizations that you make them out to be. There are indeed WAY too many of them that are, but again, don't shoot all the dogs because some of them have fleas.

No you did not. You have never presented a legal argument. The only argument you posted was this.

I have my own opinions, and I don't think anyone has seen too much reluctance on my part to voice them. I do NOT, however, force them on others beyond my own particular vote on referendums or for particular people seeking office. Am I not allowed to do that?

I'm not sure why I'm obliged to respond to such a question, but I did. Since I did, what is YOUR reason for thinking that someone does not have the right to voice their opinion, regardless of what it might be?
That is not a legal argument. All this says is that is the people vote on it, that's the way it is unless the SCOTUS says it violates the COTUS. That is not a legal argument. A legal argument is saying that a person should have the right to own a weapon due to the fact that the 1st amendment says we can or a person should not be able to own a gun be cause if you read the COTUS there is a comma in the 1st and the right to own weapons is based on an armed militia.

Those are legal based arguments.

The Jim Crow laws are a perfect example of why rights should not be up for a vote.

I know exactly what your stance is and I do not care about that but you know that and are just dodging my question.

You said you are not trying to force your beliefs on others. We all know that is a load of crap. Were a law to come on the ballot that prohibited equal marriage or abortion you would vote in favor of it.

What I am asking is if you have a legal argument to back up your vote. I do not care what your believe is moral or right. We are a nation of laws and you have to have a legal argument to allow or disallow something.

I am 100% against abortion. I think it is vile and used in large part as birth control. I believe there are times when it is medically necessary but by and large those are a small percentage of cases How ever, my beliefs are irrelevant when it comes to my vote. I have no compelling legal argument to prevent a woman from having absolute control over her body.

Do you have any legal arguments to substantiate any of your personal beliefs being transferred to your voting record which would force your beliefs on others?

What if they decide to tax church assets? ( property). Should they tax church property at Commercial or residential rates?

Beware the unintended ( or obscured) consequences.

So are you going to hold a gun on me and make me give you a "legal argument?"

Just because I vote one way or the other on ANY issue or candidate that is on the ballot does NOT mean that I am FORCING anything on anyone. Are YOU going to vote for something that you don't believe or against something that you DO believe? I doubt it.

Sure, I don't agree with abortion or gay marriage, but I'm not forcing my belief on anyone. Anyone who would allow someone else to force something on them is a wimp anyway. Would YOU let someone FORCE a belief on you? I don't THINK so.

How is it that if I vote what I believe that I am "forcing" my belief on you, but when you vote as you wish you are NOT "forcing" your belief on me? How does THAT work, hmm....?

Are you serious asking this? If you vote for a law and it passes, that law applies to everyone.

If vote on that law based on religious beliefs and not a legal argument you are you forcing your religious beliefs on others.

So do you have a legal basis for you r deciosns or just a religious one? It is very simple. Are you voting against equal marriage based on a legal or religious principle?

I just told you that I do vote against what I believe. I have no legal assume to prevent a woman from having an abortion.

Okay, so how about pointing me toward that law that makes someone vote for or against ANYTHING based on a legal basis vs. what they believe, what their second cousin believes or based on phases of the moon. I'm confused. I thought we lived in America. Silly me.

Paying taxes makes ME feel like a wimp, but I really don't care to experience prison.

I'm sure if we were in the top 1% we wouldn't feel like wimps.
