Or who gets the usage meters? Might be as hard as getting around chasity belts in the old days to defeat them. I am not that old but common sense says they were beaten on occassion.

Talk about big bother in the bedrooms. I imagine where sex for money is exchanged in legalised venues taxes are introduced into the equation already . So you are really f----d during the transaction no matter how you look at it. Or I have a headache might be replaced with can we really afford this in domestic situations.

No issue in my opinion either of what they would call it. The skin tax just comes naturally to mind.

Actually about the only fair to all tax I can think of is the point of sale tax on everything except unprepared food and medical things. Hard to circumvent this one. Casts a very wide net in fact.

Or make all taxes come due the last week in October. That would make elections in November a lot more interesting.

Their security consists of only highly trained professionals, and they get to pick out exactly who to question. And their questions SEEM low key and innocent but they know exactly what to ask, and get the answers needed to ferret out the bad guys.

Togrt the best airline security in the world, I'd fly El Al.

I don't know what the fiscal cliff would REALLY do. However, the FEAR of it is being used to manipulate the people into demanding something be done. At this point, I think the cliff is the lesser of 2 evils.
Didn't someone once say, "The only thing we have to fear, is fear ( of the fiscal cliff), itself."?

Seen a couple articles this morning from the MSM, showing some of them are finally waking up to this - the general tone being "hey, wait a second, if the fiscal cliff is so bad, why aren't the pols in more of a panic about stopping it?"

OTOH, they're also pushing polls saying more are in favor of increasing taxes on "the rich", while at the same time showing decreasing support for cutting federal spending and "benefits".

Looks like Swamp was right - as long as they believe that someone else will be stuck with the bill, the general public wants those bennys to keep coming.

The blurb that I read - specifically about .mil spending - was a reduction of $500B over 10 years.

I personally know a bunch of contractors and IT people at Wright-Patterson AFB who are looking at layoffs and contract endings if we go over the cliff.

Whether or not the country will be better off with a smaller military-industrial complex... - thats a lot ($500B) of jobs and income that will be lost.
