Not entirely sure who has the right tack....
Audience is advertising.
Advertising is money.

Miller advertises on football. Winchester doesn't.

When was the last time you saw a gun ad on TV?
They really don't need to advertise, they sell all they make.

That does not mean that anti-gun stances will be welcomed by Budweiser or Miller, as their customers are most likely gun people.

All good cases for alcohol and cigarettes. I mean, the aim of the christian is to go to Jesus so alcohol keeps you in better standing and cigs gets you going faster. What more can you ask for?

From what I saw, it appears that Costas was citing/reciting from this column:

Whitlock: After Belcher tragic murder-suicide, why are Chiefs playing? - NFL News | FOX Sports on MSN

How many young people have to die senselessly? How many lives have to be ruined before we realize the right to bear arms doesn’t protect us from a government equipped with stealth bombers, predator drones, tanks and nuclear weapons?

Our current gun culture simply ensures that more and more domestic disputes will end in the ultimate tragedy, and that more convenience-store confrontations over loud music coming from a car will leave more teenage boys bloodied and dead.

Question is, why do people pay any attention to them when it comes to this sort of thing? It's like Tiger Woods being the spokesperson for Tag Heuer watch. WGAS? What exactly is his qualification? Same as with Buick. OTOH, if he was talking about Ping golf clubs, I'd be interested in his opinion. That or how to get laid with naughty girls. Hell, I might as well ask a RC priest for sexual advice that DOES NOT involve a pre-pubescent boy

While Watching the series Boardwalk Empire it was pointed out in the back ground study by the writers how prohabition wasnt really a concern for those of wealth ,they would always have access to the booze .The working class however was of interest ,the thinking was more alert workers ready to start a fresh week on monday.Instead they searched out batches of poorly made liquor and recieved sickness or died for their trouble.

After our society collapses, the makers of alcohol will be revered members of what climbs from the ashes.
