I thought that the idea was to get a 64G or 128G SSD to put the windows OS stuff on.
and a 2nd conventional HD (500G - 3T) to put your files, movies, pitures and other carp on. The SSD will boot and run programs quickly. The 2nd HDwill let you store all your stuff on one computer. Remember that Solid State drives are inherently shorter lived than spinning magnetic drives- the little logic gates on an SSD drive only have so many thousand cycles that they can reliably switch (google: "wear leveling"). I'm sure that you will get at least 2 or 3 years out of any new SSD, but more than that I'd be cautious. (perhaps a more experienced IT person can comment on this)- since I've seen a few USB drives fail so far (after a few years) I'd expect SSD's to be in a similar boat. something to think about if you plan on keeping the computer for more than 3 years. -John
