Lock your guns up or your going to jail if they are used in the commission of a crime. You want to play Russian Roulette go for it. I could care less if you end up in jail or not.

This is just like speed limits. The law is in place. We all know it. Cops do 'random inspections'. If you speed you risk a ticket. Most people speed, we drive slower than we would if there were no speed limits.

Are you claiming you now want random inspections on gun safe usage??

Yeah, jackbooted storm troopers kicking in our doors to check our gunsafes would indeed be the next step in the current iberal progression.

Haha, no. My mother's side of the family is mostly from Pennsylvania though. My grandma says yins. That and the PA pronouncitions: pella, winda, warshinmachin. I also hear sangwich too.

Well, at least we know we will be safe. Everyone knows Storm Troopers have HORRIBLE aim. They couldn't hit the broadside of a barn at point blank range.

One REAL piece of legislation that would work is education. Instead of just educating gun owners, educate the populace as a whole. Educate them on the 4 basic rules of gun safety...

All guns are always loaded.
Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

Or, we could adopt the Canadian set of 4 basic rules to firearm safety...

Assume every firearm is loaded.
Control the muzzle direction at all times.
Trigger finger off trigger and out of trigger guard.
See that the firearm is unloaded. PROVE it safe.

These should be taught in the public school system. Teaching them the basics of safety at the middle school and high school level could prevent some accidental shootings, but we ALL know that it wouldn't have prevented what happened in CT.

The schools, as a whole, currently refuse to talk about guns unless it's in done with a bad light towards them.

And who's going to pay for that, the NRA?

You really don't understand CT gun laws do you David?

If she did survive she would be persecuted. As a firearms owner in CT you are VERY responsible for a stolen gun, it has to be reported right away to the police. You also have to report any change of address within 72 hours I think, or you can get in big trouble.

When you buy a firearm in CT its serial number is registered to your name.

Its no different than loading your kid up on vodka, and handing him the keys to your car, than he smashes it into a playground.

Jail time for the owner, plus big civil penalties.

David would feel better if her body were dug up, dismembered, burned, and then buried in am unmarked desolate grave.

Adam Lanza got those rules down pat didn't he? why would we make training the next nut part of the curriculum?

This doesn't make way more sense?

Well, yeah.... what a surprise, with school shootings the popular thing, and nothing ever done except say that guns are over all, peaceful, happy tools, and that an NRA membership and a gun in your hand are the secret to a long and happy life of pleasurable peaceful activity.

and how would you portray the gun in a good light for school systems?

why, does she deserve to be left alone? Shes the perfect example of careless stupidity getting dozens of people killed.

The person who knew her son the best, was his mother. The same person who retained, trained, and left weapons immediately available for this type of spree.

She is equal in guilt in my opinion. I have no patience for feeling sorry for her.
