it's difficult to diagnose over the internet, but it would seem a check of the battery and charging system would be the first thing to do. You may need to replace the battery, then possibly the voltage regulators on the alternator. NAPA has some good shops for checking out electrical systems if you aren't confident in doing it yourself. There must be good solid power from the battery to spin a starter. If those check out, then move on to checking the starter. Bosch is the brand to buy for starters.

Start with cleaning your battery posts and checking the voltage of your battery.
If less than 7.8 volts the starter will not turn. Battery terminals can build up resistance quickly if there is a rapid change in humidity. |

If the interior light dims when you put the key to the start position it may be a low battery. If not either the starter circuit is open or the starter itself is.
If you can see the starter terminals shorting across the larger terminal to the smaller one may produce results. Make sure the transmission is in park of neutral first though. Cleaning battery terminals and treating them should be just general maintenance periodically but not many do it until there is some difficulty. |
