I appreciate the well wishes, folks.
I get to come home this afternoon. There were some issues with what they did, and a third stent was needed, then a few days of ICU to keep an eye on my vitals. I have a heck of a blood clot in my leg right now, and it's being treated with daily injections for the next couple of weeks. I'll have to come back next week, as an outpatient, so they can check the progress on the clot. I also have to be careful, because if part of that clot breaks free, it can go to my lungs or brain and kill me. I'm exhausted, and miss my bed and chair...I can't wait to get back home. All of this has added even more meds to my daily dosages...something I don't like, but I'll follow what they say to do. They've used the term Congestive Heart Failure, and said that I have a sac around my heart that has been filling with fluids, but they say that an increase in Lasix will handle that...that means lots and lots of bathroom visits. I'll be around, but I probably wont post much for awhile...I need to concentrate on me and my family for awhile. This has been one heck of a ride. One thing I'll mention here is that my ex-wife, the mother of my children, has done everything she can to increase the stress level I have. She went as far as calling my wife, and telling her that if I pass away while in the hospital, that she'll be up that night to collect the kids...she told her that since she's not their REAL mother, that there's nothing she can do about it. She even tried using that argument to take the kids earlier in the week, telling the kids that they need to move back so that I can relax...the kids didn't fall for it, and told her to go to hell. Who needs this kind of stress while in the hospital??

You're right JP. No one needs interference like that while you're in the hospital. It sounds like something my brothers wife would do, but unlike you he is so dumb that he still lives with her.
You're a strong guy with strong conviction. That will go a long way toward getting this all straightened out. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. From what you've written, I expect that your wife and kids will help you with whatever you need. All the best!

JP,
Be careful with that blood clot man. That's risky business. ![]() Some time ago I took Cumadin for a while to prevent blood clotting. Only med I've ever taken that made me feel out of sorts. Stopped taking it after a week. ![]() You follow the Doctor's orders to the letter, you hear. You only get one chance to recover properly. Don't over-exert yourself. Stoneseller and myself don't want to be joining us in the zipper club. ![]() btw..Your ex-wife sounds like a world class bee-itch.

Thanks again.
The ex doesn't have a chance of getting custody back unless I die. Even then, it would be difficult. My attorney already has papers ready to file that will get the ball rolling for my oldest daughter to gain custody of the younger two, and she's already agreed to let them live with my wife, instead of going back to their mother. Their mother is living with her parents, and is unable to make it on her own, even though she makes decent money. She won't visit the kids on her weekends, missed sending our son a birthday card by 4 weeks now, and argues with the kids each time she calls them. I think I'll tell my lawyer to go ahead and file the papers for child support now...since she's not had to pay any since I gained custody, and she now has a good paying job. I've tried being nice, but it's not easy. I've taken the high road, and have had to explain to the kids that she's doing what she thinks is right, even if it's wrong. The stress from all of that has been great...and it's time to bring it all to an end. I'm done shielding the kids from her actions. I'm done having to explain them to the kids. The fact that she pulled this while I was in the hospital cements her position with the kids...and they apparently have had one hell of a fight while I was in ICU. I'll deal with all of this next week...right now I'm concentrating on spending time with the family and dealing with the side effects of the stents and the medications. The pain and discomfort in my chest is a feeling I'm trying to get used to. The docs said that it will take time for it to go away, or I'll continue to have them...it's a 50/50 crap shoot. I had to send the wife to the pharmacy to pick up a larger daily dosage pill container to hold the meds I have to take now...Between the amount of medication I'm on and my new crabiness from the medication and limitations, I'm really understanding why my dad became grumpy after his stents.
