Question for those skilled in the kitchen...Oriental food question.

My wife and I like to dine at a local Chinese buffet place mainly because they have this Peanut Chicken that is outstanding, as far as buffet food goes.

It has a breaded crust, then is smothered in the peanut sauce. I've been trying to recreate this recipe for the last two years, but keep coming up short. There's has a deeper, richer peanut flavor than other places make. I've tried adding more peanut butter to the sauce, but it's still lacking the richness we're looking for.

Does anyone here know of a recipe that is rich in flavor, yet not too heavy, includes sesame seeds and a crunchy-crispy crust on the chicken?

We could eat this dish daily, but at $16 for the two of us to eat at lunch, it gets a bit pricey after awhile.

Hey, now...grilled peanut butter sandwiches are one of my weaknesses in life. One of my others is a peanut butter and mayo sandwich on toast. I can't live without PB!

As for the dish, I use the term Chinese loosely, but it's the only place I've been able to get it.

What? You don't recognize the classic "PBJBOTB?

Shucks, you'd think a guy who'd eat Peanut Butter and Mayo would be familiar with it.

I thought so too.

I was expecting some serious excitement from that!

I can identify the peanut butter and bacon, but not what's under the bacon. I've had a peanut butter and hog jowl bacon sandwich with mayo in the past, and rather enjoyed it. The way the sweet from the peanut butter worked with the salt of the jowl bacon (cheek bacon) and creaminess of the mayo...it was an amazing, artery hardening, heart stopping meal.

My dad used to enjoy peanut butter and American cheese sandwiches, but I could never get behind those textures and tastes together.

Certainly hope you have never addressed the proprieters of the food establishment as 'Orientals"
That would be extremely rude.(Think colonial times of oppression)

They prefer to be addressed as 'Asian'.

My wife makes a wonderfull Satay Peanut sauce

Uses about 6 oz. of roasted peanuts-ground coarsely..about 1-1/2 cups thick coconut milk, sugar, salt.
Hope this helps.
