You should, I'm dating this hippie chick at the moment, who thinks I'm a right wing nut, and it's awesome!

You could try going to a Rainbow gathering. Wild time. Supposed to be in Montana this year. The first week of July is the main focus but you can get there a few weeks early to help set-up.

No space cake yet but she did get me stoned one night. She's the real deal, after Burning Man she stayed up in Northern California to work at a pot farm for three months, she was harvesting that $h*t naked.

Haven't been to that one. Likely a higher class of hippie as there's an admission charge. The son of a good friend of mine goes regularly. She tells me that the sort of dust that frequently swirls around that plus is seriously not good. Not just unpleasant but actually dangerous - alkali lake dust.

The Rainbow gathering is pretty wild but it attracts an unfortunate number of flakes. Plenty of interesting people as well though. Unique experience though. Nothing quite like it.

You don't choose to become a hippie, once you fail at everything else a hippie is made.

Avoid the national gatherings, and find regional ones.
Way less flakes and scammers, lots more good, honest folks who are taking the path less traveled...

The Quebec and Vermont gatherings have always been my favorites.
Was part of a pancake kitchen in VT for a number of years.
The Quebec folks actually grew crops on the land before their fall gathering... lots of awesome food.

Wrong. I know many extremely successful hippies.
Being happy, at peace with yourself and unconcerned with convention is a higher state of being.
Many people don't get it, but that's OK.

MedMech, how did it, like, get this way, man?

Speaking of hippies, one of my clients is in IT. Years ago, an associate of hers was with another company, one day a young man came in to talk about some I ideas he had that he was hoping to get some interest and participation in. He gave his spiel and they decided, nah, kinda far out there, dude was sort of hippie like.

Years later, she saw some guy on TV and she was thinking, 'Wait a minute, where do I know that guy?' Turns out it was the hippie they decided was too far out, man, to take seriously: Steve Jobs.
