I think I am going to become a hippie..

Something about a VW Bus, Birkenstocks, long hair, and space cakes appeals to me!

Anyone want to join me?

Depends. What color wheels are you going to have on your bus?

Too late. The Dead are no longer with us.

You could try going to a Rainbow gathering. Wild time. Supposed to be in Montana this year. The first week of July is the main focus but you can get there a few weeks early to help set-up.

Nah, hipster's irritate me.

Though, I wouldn't mind being dead broke. Dead broke with space cakes, that is.

Haven't been to that one. Likely a higher class of hippie as there's an admission charge. The son of a good friend of mine goes regularly. She tells me that the sort of dust that frequently swirls around that plus is seriously not good. Not just unpleasant but actually dangerous - alkali lake dust.

The Rainbow gathering is pretty wild but it attracts an unfortunate number of flakes. Plenty of interesting people as well though. Unique experience though. Nothing quite like it.

Avoid the national gatherings, and find regional ones.
Way less flakes and scammers, lots more good, honest folks who are taking the path less traveled...

The Quebec and Vermont gatherings have always been my favorites.
Was part of a pancake kitchen in VT for a number of years.
The Quebec folks actually grew crops on the land before their fall gathering... lots of awesome food.

True enough and I've been to a number of regional gatherings in Ea WA, but the national is an interesting animal. I had some great experiences at the 3 I went to: '81 WA, '82 ID, '92 CO.
