at this point, just get a real PC. The Pi is not meant to be used as a heavy use machine, its just a GPU with a small CPU attached for simple projects, simple use.

That's what I've figured for years and years - it is true but the problem is that expectations grow with the technology (even when you don't keep an eye on it). Will these small computers ever catch up with a PC? Technology wise - probably not - availability wise perhaps; at the moment it seems that soon you won't be able to buy desktops; there will only be lap tops and hand held star trek thingys...
