wanna hear a stupid story?

Next door neighbor in the commercial condo building where my shop is does body work. For the last 10 months hes had a nice quality IROC sitting out front.

10 months ago a local guy who works for the city on road crews dropped off the car for a full paint job. Seemed nice enough, was starting his own paving business ect ect. Ran into him and like any enthusiast he went on and on about his IROC

Car sat and sat and sat, asked my neighbor about it, seems a month after the guy dropped the car off he was arrested for marijuana, but it was a technical violation on his medical marijuana growth and usage rules. I guess the guy has some kind of permit for growing medical marijuana for some illness he has. Something about plants not being disposed of at a certain point, but apparently this guy went to jail for seven months because he had 4 existing plants when he planted another 6.

Dumbest thing Ive ever heard, because of some technical violation and I believe some prior issues with this technical issue of how many plants at what time of growth, he goes to jail for half a year, and the rest of us get to pay for his room and board, and meanwhile hes not out working and supporting his family and expanding his business.

This is the kind of stuff that the hard core 'to the ramparts!' on drugs crowd such as our own Larry don't get. And there are parents in jail for non-violent possession who in spite of using drugs are still a stabilizing influence on their families. But with daddy in jail, the kids get into more trouble than they would have if he were there.

Well yeah, and if we were all perfect and honest we wouldn't need jails of police and our standard of living would be much higher. Your answer is bogus because the issue is: are the kids of such a person more likely to become law breakers because of a lack of concerned parenting owing to daddy being locked up for possession of marijuana?

I've known plenty of people who smoke pot who did a pretty good job of raising their kids. I doubt the fools who raised the 9-11 hijackers smoked pot so what is their excuse?

Years back, an insurance agent told me a story about he and his wife visiting Saudi Arabia. He said that at your hotel, you could leave jewelry, money and other valuable laying around and leave the room unlocked and NOBODY would touch your valuables. He said he saw large open markets with very expensive jewelry laid out on tables in the open. No locks, glass enclosures, NOTHING. Apparently, when someone steals in Saudi, they get their non-dominant hand cut off. If they steal again, the other hand gets cut off. No prisons, no jails. Saves the Saudis BILLIONS and the theft and crime rate is the lowest in the civilized world. Oh, and they think the American justice system is about as stupid as gets.

I lived in Saudi Arabia years ago starting up some equipment and noticed the same thing. You could leave your car out there by the road running and if it had enough gas come back a week later and it would still be sitting there running. You do not want to get caught with a joint over there.
