Fit for a King......

Dig deep and you, too, could own this little number that is currently listed on Ebay.

I would bid on it myself, but I am looking for something with a little more class and style. This might be good enough for the average Mercedes fan, though.

Never been a huge fan of the LWB. I like the intimacy of the SWB. If I had to take the long wheel base I could muddle through but I wont be happy about it. lol

The story go's that he killed one of his ministers, who starred a little too long at his newly German born bride Uta, by putting his head through the rear window and closing it, while never taking his eyes of the Becker Europa radio searching for French rock, chopping his head clean off.

Those had hydraulic windows like my 53 Caddy. They are pretty quick but I seriously doubt you could cut off someone's head with it. You could make them pretty sorry for looking at your wife with it though .

Back when you could pick one of these up for 3000 if it had issues I thought about taking the engine and tranny out of my 74 suburban and putting it in the benz. It had the 454 with turbo 400 and loads of rust.

Ringo Starr once owned one of these. It was light green and was used as Peter Sellers car in 'The Magic Christian'.

This one appears to have a divider window, but that could just be the way the back of the front seat area is paneled in.

I know a hydraulics specialist who worked on the car which the late Jacques Littlefield, the billionaire, owned. Believe me, you could crack a cocoanut with one of thos hydraulic set-ups!

If I had such a car I'd immediately want to go out and take over a country and become a dictator.

wow.

Those youtube videos are amazing.

How did the car get from Africa to Atlanta Georgia is my question?
amazing history to this vehicle. Id love to know where it was when Bokassa was deposed

Probably sitting in a garage and sold off later as part of Bokassa's imperial trappings

The 600s had a special switch which allowed for some serious window closing power

Wow. A luxury car with optional guillotine feature. No doubt it appealed to the Frenchy in Bokassa.
