It tastes good is about all I care about, It's fast food. What is it you expect? I wouldn't eat it all day long but I can't see paying more than a $10 for a mean when I am on the run. Certainly not going to buy a $20 and up steak "to go". If you are buying, sure.

Depends on how snobbish one wants to be, I suppose. I have seen a lot of foods look horrible and disgusting till they get on the plate.

If I'm grabbing lunch, I can generally do better than Mickey Dee's for $10. Plenty of places in NY (and I'm guessing other cities) have lunch specials that are soup/salad/food in the general ballpark of $10.

Meat, to me, is primarily made from muscle tissues. The McRib is also made from tripe, heart, and pork stomach.

"restructured meat product" contains a mixture of tripe, heart, and scalded stomach, which is then mixed with salt and water to extract proteins from the muscle. The proteins bind all the pork trimmings together so that it can be re-molded into any specific shape — in this case, a fake slab of ribs.

Define better? The beauty of fast food, McD, Hardees, Subway, etc, etc, is they are plentiful and you can grab and go. What you are talking about is a sit down and eat place. Not as plentiful so planning is necessary. Also, for $10 and less, I doubt you are going to get anything good, food wise unless you buy your own meat and cook it yourself at home. Therein lies the convenience issue. When I come home after a 12 hr day that has gone sideways, do I really want to get something to eat that tastes good for the money or piss away money buying great food which I can't enjoy? Here is where a Subway or something is good. Less than $10, I'm not hungry and ready for bed. For lunch, I just want something that doesn't make me hungry and doesn't taste like grass.

If I have the time like a couple hours to kill, no problem.

For the price you paid, about $5, you get a drink, fries and the sandwich. What is it you expect for what you paid? The question is one of utility. Are you willing to pay more for a quick meal? If you have time to kill and think it is worth it, sure. Lets get real here. We are talking about fast food and NOT fine dining. The 2 are not comparable. If it is late and the kids are hungry, waiting is a PITA and this is quick and dirty.

By no means am I saying it should be a daily staple but as a quick and dirty solution, I don't see how it can be beat. For under $10, you aren't going to get anything quality that I can see. You want quality, pay for it.

I can get plenty of quality food here in Los Angeles for under $10,- and it ain't no McD's. But we are blessed around here.

No, I'm talking about places that do carry-out, actually I might also be odd cos I generally eat a pretty large lunch around 3 pm and just a sandwich or something (I usually have bread, cheese, veggies, etc around) for dinner.

Gahhh ! Yuk! I hate mcdonalds. Up until last month it had alnost been a year since I last ate there. I was running late and wendys drive through was full. I **** my guts out all day and into the night after that
