What's that extra hose sitting to the left of the air filter?

I wish my Toyota had gate latches like that. Goofy cables connected to a POS plastic pullup that I've replaced twice.

These cars are not uncommon in Europe.

There is something interesting about the age.
In the ad is says it is a 1990 model but dated 1982.
The reason is that in the Netherlands, until recently, you didn't had to pay road tax (2500$ a year for a car like that) for cars over 25 years old.

For restoration projects they used two cars, one old and one relatively new. The end result was a late model car that had an official age on 25 years.

Unfortunately this year the age limit is raised from 25 years to 40 years, making these so called "newtimers" less popular.

The bed is a marvel of function. Cool latches and a lip to hook to with straps all the way around!
