Strange times we live in. I can imagine a book: The Craigslisting of America.

Craigslist has enormous power, we've given it to them, same way we gave it to Microsoft, and since most everyone who uses it doesn't pay a fee, you have no recourse to complain that you're not getting what you paid for.

One of my clients is an editor and has moved into using Skype to work with clients from around the country, occasionally other nations as well. He was doing great advertising on CL but then Newmark clamped down on people advertising outside of their home area. My client can advertise in SF and LA and nowhere else, at least until he hired a consultant to get him over the barriers. But now he's dealing with competitors (allegedly, according to his consultant) paying people in Bangladesh to flag his posts. He spends mega time every day on the computer trying to get his ads to fly. On the one hand, Craigslist has been good to him, OTOH, it's driving him crazy.

If you are using DHCP (Dynamic Host Connecting Protocol) from your ISP, try to switch off your Modem for a few minutes, perhaps an hour.

There are blacklists for certain IP's and Craigslist might check them.
If another user had that IP before you and did something that didn't go along with the policies, chances are that this IP was automatically blocked by Craig's.

This is just a guess!

Once you switch off you modem for a few minutes, it will have to drop your current IP, therefore it may take as long as an hour. After you boot your modem again, the ISP's DHCP might give you a different IP.

Dunno if this will fix it, but it doesn't hurt.

Are you the new Craigslist rapist? If not, just use an IP mask...that will get you in under the radar of their software.

Verizon DSL and most cable ISPs will release and renew IPs immediately if the modem and router are reset. No need to wait for an hour.

Verizon FiOS is slower to reset, though pulling the battery backup on the terminal unit can help.

How did you manage that? Our local craigslist is full of hookers and swingers.

Getting banned from craigslist is like getting banned from Walmart...

Tell the truth, you've been haranguing and pranking craigslisters and they've caught up with you .

If it's empty, that's a good start.

In my experience in a country where you have to pay for everything the process of having had to paying for something makes little difference to the outcome of a dispute. All of a sudden you didn't pay enough to make the difference...
