No, thrust.

That ping thing, ACARS is for monitoring....banks or trusts own commercial A/C engines and lease them to the airlines.....airlines monitor engine parameters plus they cost a bunch.....and why they monitor them.

Airframes and engines all have a data plate showing who owns the engine and airframe.

Its on the side of the engine and usually in the cockpit.

Extreme interest in what goes on with their millions of dollar engines and airframes.....plus, I'm sure their are insurance issues.

This article explains how the engine monitoring satellite systems work:

Once again, I think Gault has missed the concept of the OP. But that's OK, keep trying

Back to the OP. If 'we' sell a craft to 'them' for military purposes that 'checks in' ... regardless of ownership/title/whateva. Wouldn't that be handy in the age of information

Rolls Royce mostly leases their engines, rather than selling them. That's why they maintain satellite link engine monitoring even if the customer does not. I expect that the other engine manufacturers have similar engine telemetry.

Once again, thanks for stopping by with useless information unrelated to the concept of the OP. Please get back to us - only - after you acquire a clue. Don't care how that happens.

Never saw an engine or airframe without a plate saying something like:

Bank of Chicago Trust or other name on them.

Most of the majors been leasing since the Bankruptcy days and a lot before.

... And as of about fifteen years ago, GE Capital owned the vast majority of them. Nothing to do with the fact that they manufactured engines.
