Appears Clinton didn't really reissue the directive either......GH did, it flew along under BC and then GW and was reissued sometime in 2011.

The directive was not issued by Bush I.
It was issued by Deputy Secretary Of Defense Donald Atwood.
Dick Cheney was SecDef.

You can make a claim that as CINC Bush I is ultimately responsible for the directive, but I don't think you can conclusively state that it was his policy.

Just because it was a DOD directive doesn't quite make it the Prez's thing but OTOH the issue came under him.....but when its said Clinton reissued it, that puts a whole different slant/flavor on it.

My real time is 12 hours ahead of Michigan time. Since I have not seen anything else about this incident on newscasts here, was just wondering if there is any other new news about this incident,,or if intell is still being gathered.
