All we use now is classic cured cast iron. A quick rinse, a fresh oiling after every use, and the things are more non stick than the teflon coated stuff. Plus we got a bunch out of a flea market, the wife gets a kick out of cooking on probably 100 year old iron pans

I gave away all my Teflon pans and went to Farber ware electric skillets made of stainless steel. Perfect temp control and no chance to ingest fluorine and get cancer.

Plus all the food tastes better cooked in a little olive oil or Pam.

So has it dawned on you yet what you left cooking in the pan?

I think it was tomato, although I wasn't the one who had been cooking it.

With the exception of the spaghetti pot, we got rid of the non-stick cookware. We mainly use cast iron and old copper bottomed Revere Ware. I've got cast iron that belonged to great-great grandmother that we use nearly daily.

After the learning curve with my daughter on the newer CI pieces, she finally graduated to using the old Griswold and Erie pieces. She ruined the seasoning on the Wagner somewhat often in the beginning. The nice thing is that it was easy to repair...bake it off, re-season, and the pan was back in rotation.
