Contemplating a 'Crime'!

So if I were to remove the restrictor in my kitchen faucet, so I can fill a pot in half the time and don't have to wait two minutes for the hot water, or install an old 3-gallon toilet in my house that may push enough water to keep the plumbing clear, have I commited a felony?

Happy Motoring, Mark

Depends on where you get your water....

I bet you rip the 'Do Not Remove Under Penalty Of Law' tags off your beds too...

Nobody cares. Although if you stop eating the present toilet should do. I thought your crime spree thread was going to be about stealing womens hearts or something similar. This would have gotten a large response.

Some of the kitchen taps are a true misery with their low flow rates. My wife has been on my posterior to get the set at the cottage changed.

Eurostream brand and true junk. As far as flow rate is concerned.

When you get the larger capacity toilet in you can add some common bricks to reduce the water requirements for a clean flush. The flush capacity water wise is usually more than required on the larger tank toilets anyways.

You want bad and slow. We have a four slice toaster at home. It has two digital timers to inform you of how long until the toast pops on each side. At first I thought them a joke until I realized how slow that toaster really is.

I haven't yet seen the EPA swoop down on the Habitat-for-Humanity recycle-store to seize their stock of used toilets - many with vintage colors and tank sizes. But I guess that could happen any day!
I recently replaced the kitchen sink in my parent's home. The old sink had an attractive, fairly new, Moen twin-lever faucet. But the flow restriction was built into the valves, which were cheap, wobbly plastic.
So I reinstalled an older Moen single-lever Faucet with a more solid construction and a much more satisfactory flow rate.
That house still has vintage 1964 bathroom fixtures - one set in medium Light-Blue, and the other one in Lavender.
While my house in Alexandria still has it's vintage 1969 bathroom fixtures in Avocado!
Since I don't water the yards at either place, I think I can afford to keep the bigger toilet-tanks!

When you sell your house, be sure to say it's been "straight-piped".

In some radicals minds, such a crime would be worthy of the electric chair.

I think that it is only "illegal" for manufactures to produce them. If you have one, or buy a used one somewhere, you are grandfathered in.

I know from personal experience that in areas with low water pressure, the 2.5 gal shower heads don't flow near 2.5 gal/min unless the restrictor is removed. In fact, some tend to drool rather than flow.

Code on new construction locally is 6 liters. I think our toilets could stand a redesign anyways if it did not drive the price out of sight.

There is line pressure available to boost the flush .Designed intelligently this would be good if not too expensive or trouble prone. I believe water usage could remain low.

Actually the toilet already exists. Just not cheap domestic units. Or I have not run across them.

But what if you have a 'water-saver' faucet or shower-head and you 'produce one' by removing or modifing the restrictor? I looked today and saw several how-to videos on YouTube.
I also found a news-clip that stated the Mayor of San Francisco appreciated the Audi Green-Police ad, and was considering implementing some of the enforcement ideas portrayed there!
