My doctor also mentioned the Pneumonia shot for when I turn 65. Any of you guys' doctors pushing that one?

Tom, ask your Daughter the MD for any knowledge she may have about this Shingles injection, if you would please?
I had Pneumonia once. It almost killed me. There is an injection that will cure it if you have the strength to take it when you get to the final stages.

I did and it took a week or so to get over it.

So yeah, I would take that one, too, if it were suggested.

Back when I got the pneumonia vaccine they said that they recommend you take it only twice in a lifetime. I got it early because of the terrain and the circumstances. I may get it a couple more times. By the time I need it the third time I'll probably be too senile to care anyway.

I've had pneumonia vacc. too. My lungs are compromised from asthma and allergies. Not worth the risk. I've had the big P more than once and it's no picnic.
SRJ I don't know how you've come to the conclusion that everyone here's opposed to the vaccine for Shingles. Lots of us have taken it and report no side effects. NO vaccine is 100% effective. Duh. If you're afraid to get it. Don't get it.
Just don't come whining when your armpits, eyelids or crotch are on fire.

It's a communist plot -- that's why. Just like all digit dialing, and fluoridated water was, back in the 1960s.

Once she is eligible? I don't understand this. I was under the impression that they give it at drug stores, health clinics, etc, pretty much on demand.

I heard that there there never were any communists and that the trilateral commission and the Bilderbergers made up the whole communist thing to hide their evil plots.
