Even the majority of older guys like myself are never sure there will be another year. We just hope so I suspect. I do not feel old but the reality is I am. Plus it is getting worse. My question is how did I get to this point or where have the years gone? As you age time appears to speed up because we get so familiar with things I feel. I guess the first indication I got of actual aging was not getting involved in certain things now with a long time frame. Still my health remains relatively good at this time. Thank god the wives as well. I really do not know what I would do without her. As the time of departure approaches and nothing can be done about it I automatically just adjusted to the reality of it. Maybe I will make eighty in decent shape and perhaps not. What you cannot change does not bother you I find. There would be no point in dealing with it mentally. It is just is what it is. The absolute is one would change assets for age reduction without any question. Only if we could take our wives back in time as well. Since there is no reality there I am content if both the wife and myself exit this life with little difficulty. Women I find are in general more fatalistic or grounded in reality than us guys in this area anyways. As for myself I feel I have had a good general ride up to this point. Some of our friends and aquaintences have already unfortunately departed. |

![]() Actually the most tasteless to me at least or morose vehicle I ever saw. Was a Packard hearse in a salvage yard years ago with wood carvings on the sides. The carved woodwork was full length along the body. There were no windows past the drivers compartment either. The carving covered those areas as well. Ugly fails to describe it. I looked for an example of it on the web a minute ago. There are none. Strange as well that the smoothest riding vehicle we may even be in. We will not even get to enjoy the sensation of it. One marketing ploy of funeral homes they seem to have missed is the lay away plan. Insurance companies do offer it though in a fashion if you think about it. You know you are in trouble if when passing a funeral home on foot. They ask you why do you bother to go home? I also thought of donating my remains to medical science. I just could not face another rejection though. That my wife blames me for causing her heart attack and near demise at that time a few year ago is bad enough. I felt really bad about it and live with the guilt. Also I promised I would never again take the bag off my head when she was doing her thing. You have to find a little humor in life if you can. It does lighten the load overall in my opinion. Not wishing to offend anyone with it at the same time. I have also enjoyed watching the posts Tom is kindly sharing about their trip to Greece. It can only be hoped the plane can get the weight of the priceless artifacts he might be collecting along the way off the ground. I hope his wife is enjoying the trip as well. It may have been very tiring trying to locate various forklifts for her husband though. Last edited by barry12345; 09-22-2014 at 10:23 AM. |

I don't have much time for interweb posting lately. To much work, and sailing. I was out of town 4 of the last 5 weekends.

My car is so much more than it was when I got it, and much of that is attributable to advise and information from BC.

![]() Personally, I like the conspiracy theories, hang-wringing and sky-is-falling hysteria brought here by the hard right. It is endlessly entertaining. Unfortunately with the hard left people, it is much more difficult to get them all up in a lather.... Far less entertainment value to be had in poking holes in their position. ![]() So.... don't go buddy, you're one of the few who can take the reparte with the sense of fun and jocularity that is intended. Not to mention that you are generally more coherent than some, and can actually succeed in making valid points.
