Sedate, but not any better driving. Saw a couple near misses today. Brother in law says he drives careful on the assumption that he thinks everyone is stoned.

I've seen it. I-5 coming south from Seattle isn't that different from I-75 out of Atlanta or I-580 coming from Reno. The 5 is signed 60 and people do 60, follow at a 1-3 second interval and seldom change lanes. 580 is signed 65/70 and people do 80-85, follow at a 1-3 second interval, and change lanes to go around slow vehicles, or occasionally the slow ones get over for the fast ones. 75 is signed 55, and people do 75 with about six inches between the back bumper of one car and the front bumper of the next. If someone has a car 15 feet long and there's a space in a faster moving adjacent lane 16 feet long, they will squeeze it in there. They have a lot of wrecks in Atlanta, but when traffic's moving it's a fun place to drive.

Well we are back and only spent a few hundred bucks, mostly on food, so im happy.
Went to alkai point a few times to walk, walked around a few local lakes, saw squalamie (sp) falls, visited the fish market and walked in a couple cool parts of the city. Was a good trip since all that was free. Cheap entertainment was going pumpkin picking and through several corn mazes, then watched people skydive and hot air balloons launch from the same area. Spent most of the time outside since it was cloudless and beautiful the whole time we were there. Also something interesting was seeing the ballard locks and salmon ladder. Not too many salmon running, but watching the ship and boat traffic go through the lock system is fascinating, its very busy and you can wander all over it. This attraction is also free. Cars seen- 3 diesel chevy luvs About 45 volvo 240 wagons Twice as many 80s subarus 15 to 20 rot free chevy full size 70s and 80s trucks 15 or 20 rot free full size 70s to 80s fords. 7 or 8 really old toyota trucks 2 datsun trucks Only one 123, but 5 or 6 124s 3 volvo amazons 10 or 15 air cooled vw busses, 5 or 6 beetles, and a square back. A couple classic impalas and several mustangs And 4 teslas. We rented a bright red chevy sonic turbo. Acceptable car, though i had a real problem with steering wheel chrome blinding me. Was comfortable and zippy though. Shift points were a little weird at first, but didnt take long to figure it out. Almost rolled my 240 on the way back from the airport as i was on sonic driving autopilot. Turns out a 123 and a go kart dont turn the same

I am fortunate enough that my dad took me there a few times when I was a kid. Now it's not run by the family. I'd vote Chace's Pancake Corral.

The brother in law says the housing market is nuts, you can expect to get 100k or more over your listing price in certain areas due to the bidding war by competetive buyers. He said they put asking price offers in on places only to have them sell for 100 to 200k over asking price in cash. They has a lot of trouble as if you are getting bank financing, you are immediately at a huge disadvantage. Ultimately they got very lucky and were first offer in line asking price for a new build at a set price from the builder who wasnt having any bidding to sell quick.
