It's the same thing. If you want to argue semantics, keep wasting your time.

If it is similar to my 201, I had hard starting on that too. Everything checked out so I pulled injectors out and had them cleaned and tested and the distributor done too. Worked perfectly till I found a bunch of rust on the shock tower and decided to dump it to somebody else. Still working, IIRC.

My usual PM for daily drivers is to yank injectors every 100K or if it is seasonal like my Vette or Seadoos or ATVs, I do them every 3 years.

Nope. I said you were incorrect in saying the car isn't old enough to have K-jetronic. It's in fact smack in the middle of the production era of K-jet. CIS is K-jet.

Ok, I looked in my Bosch Fuel injection book by Haynes, copyright 1986. I defer to your superior knowledge. CIS is a generic term. The system used by Mercedes on the 380 SE is a CIS system by Bosch called k-Jetronic.

When you come through Lafayette, I'll buy you a beer.....what the heck, I'll buy you lunch.

I just did a look on all the vacuum hoses and loose wires. It looks like someone recently put in a new ignition coil. This green wire was hanging loose and was wondering where it goes to.I imagine it hooks to the coil, but didn't want to put it on the wrong post. Here's a picture:

Another thing that seems off is that when I turn the key in the #3 position, the fuel pump doesn't hum. When I turn the key to start the pump hums. I jumpered the FPR and I poured gas in the throttle body. The car still won't start! I have the w126 cd's bought on ebay, but they suck for this application. Also I have no wiring diagrams to help me with the ignition and injection system. please help...I need to have this running before Christmas.

Hang on buddy! Someone will have that model and chime in and help you sort where that wire goes. I remember on my 84 280e euro I had to replace the (? not sure exactly what it was) ignition module? I think it acted the same way as you describe. But first find out what that wire is supposed to be hooked to.

This green wire is going to the diagnostic socket (connection "4") & must be connected to the clamp "1" on the coil.
