The exterior looks like it's hiding the fact it's an E-Class. The distinction of being an E seems to have disappeared.
Either that, or it's trying to blend in with the S and C, like what MB had in the 80's to the mid-90's where the designs were very similar across the sedans. If I recall, the w126 came out first, followed by the w201 then the w124. Today, the C-class updated design followed the S-class, then finally by this new E. Seems like how it was back in the day. That interior though, seems to be well done.

Mercedes is doing what they did before, the C, E and S all kind of look the same.
Kind of like the W202, W124, and W140. Same stuff.

Exactly, and it does work. Instead of having the halo s class, you have the "mini s class". It's not a bad looking car either, though it's not exactly exciting. It is classy.

I like the new C class, I just don't want to be associated with the demographic around here that buys them.
