Buick is doing it right again

From the GM division that brought you the legendary Riviera...

This is the Buick Avista coupé... not bad looking, eh?

My favorite so far is the Avenir 4-door saloon... handsome, handsome car!

Like the coupe. The sedan reminds me a lot of the Maserati Quattroporte. Avenir is a great name for a car, they should use that.

I love it, but won't hold my breath for a production version just yet. It's supposedly based on the alpha platform and is rather complete...but GM is a tease with a lot of their concepts like this.

Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, have somewhat of a following still. With Pontiac gone maybe they are looking to grab some partial to the Firebird, and someone not wanting an import higher end vehicle.

doesn't Caddy have a coupe based on the Corvette chassis? Looks similar. I wonder what engine they have?

Even though Buick and a whole slough of others are making terrific quality in their vehicles, I just don't need one after switching to a Mercedes Benz diesel sedan 25 years ago. As cost effective as I believe they are, I don't have much need for another brand or style car. The run to a proven quality of vehicle, is rather hard to switch from on a primary driver, for. Especially given the cost to do so!

I'm sure that there are legions of w220 owners out there who could regale us for hours with stories about the proven quality of the Mercedes brand.
