Moto X Pure or LG G4
I'm looking for a new cell phone and I have decided to buy out right instead of do a contract. Been looking at th mid priced phones as I do not have a need for the high end stuff. I don't stream or game so super fast is not a priority.
These two phones seem pretty reasonable. Leaning toward the Moto since it has the newer Android OS and it is a bit smaller so it will fit in my pocket better. Any experience with either?

What pricing are you seeing for these phones?

iPhone 6s Plus! jk
Personally, I like the Google Nexus devices - my last droid was a Nexus 5, and it was a fantastic device!

Price wise I am seeing them for between $250 and $300 for refirb or 'like new' on both amazon and ebay.
I like the Nexus but I am not keen on not having a SD slot and they are selling for closer to $400 which is more than I can rationalise for a phone. I'm having a hard time rationalizing $300. I like the fact that is is running a clean version of Android. The LG is nice because it has a removable battery and a SD slot. Camera and software according to reviews is quite good. Fast processor and it sounds like it will be more than adequate. It also tends to be a bit less expensive than the others. The Moto X Pure has the better reviews (user and "pros") than the rest. A very clean version of Android Lollipop and Motorola tends to roll out up dates quicker than everyone else. Phone is very quick, only slightly taller than the LG. Battery is fixed (bummer) but it does have the SD slot that the Nexus does not have. I'm leaning toward the Moto. Seems the best all around for a decent price.

I've not used the Moto X, but I own the G4 (recent update from my G2).
Fantastic device. Quick, clean, and the camera (both video and still) is exceptionally good. Issues with the G2 (slow focus for stills in low light, wandering focus in video) have been fully resolved. The new laser focus is spectacular.

The G4 is ok but LG notoriously has a steep obsolescence curve while the Moto's last a little longer. One thing that sets the Moto apart from most other brands are the radios. If you live in an area of travel in areas with marginal coverage the Motorola is superior in that regard. At the end of the day it boils down to features and what you really need, what ever brand you pick make sure it does not have some weird problem with your car Bluetooth and other peripherals you already have. There is nothing worse than having a device that does not play well with your car or home automation. It may sound weird but despite having the same os version some firmwares do not work well with other devices or apps.

That's a new model hitting the market at over $700. Does not fit the parameters that I am looking for.

Newer phones don't always play nice with older devices. My very early Bluetooth head unit gave some phones trouble (including my G2) until I updated the Bluetooth dongle.
I've paired my new G4 with a bunch of devices (aforementioned head unit, two Jabra VoIP headsets, my laptop, two desktops, my old G2, two sets of headphones, and three rental cars) without any trouble. Sent from my LG-H810 using Tapatalk

I pulled the trigger on a G4. I like the idea of a removable battery and expandable SD. The reviews seems pretty good and my needs are pretty basic so I suspect the phone will exceed my needs by a wide margin.
Coughed up for a case and a tempered glass screen protector. Now I have to wait to get it. I hate waiting.
