I dont think there are effective live traps that are really mouse size. I've tried the smallest Havaheart with unspectacular results. I've also found that if you do manage to catch them live, they make a bee line back to the house when released. You have to let them go on the neighbors property, and that's no way to make friends.

Whatever you do, don't ever use glue traps. Finding a live mouse bound in glue will scar your soul.

A momma mouse can have a huge number of babies at one time. I'd never try to be merciful with the little buggers. I'd just try to kill them asap and dispose of the tiny (and admitted cute) little buggers.

The gestation period is about 19–21 days, and they give birth to a litter of 3–14 young (average six to eight). One female can have 5 to 10 litters per year, so the mouse population can increase very quickly. Breeding occurs throughout the year.

Last year we had a mouse problem. We were catching 1-3 a night in the traps. Finally figured out where they were entering the house and plugged it up with spray foam.

I hate to kill them,it grosses me out. Maybe I can set a humane trap,and turn them loose on mean neighbors down the road.
