Automation is arriving in quantity in the not too long distant future. It may impact jobs similar to what the establishment of the computer did. I find it interesting that the job losses it created has never been much of a subject.

It to me seems very hard to pin down just what employment will look like in the years to come. Some of the trades will still exist and currently can pay decently. A problem I notice is many are getting more complex all the time to learn.

I had a young fellow ask me how he can invest a thousand dollars to make some money. I suggested he consider buying and selling as the probable path to a larger quicker return. At the same time warning him you have to think about how to do it.
