When the light turns green outta no where a RED LIGHT RUNNER traveling at HIGH SPEED might nail you in the side. Always always always check both right and left BEFORE stepping on the go pedal.

We've had some horrific accidents involving red light runners traveling at high speed.

Unhappy Sad Facts

Not just red lights husky man ~ I see this daily far from major boulevards and these stop sign runners often don't bother to look sideways at all, no wonder it's so dangerous out there .

The fact is, many are afraid, the proof is in the nature of their non repair help posts .

Again I say : this is un American and I hope others choose to not be afraid .

Back when we rode horses, not too many riders killed. When the automobile came into vogue, accidents began. People screamed at the government to "do something". So, government began to license, regulate, require insurance, require seat belts, etc etc ad nauseum. Still today, these psycho drivers are out there looking for someone to run over.......

Again, I'll stand by my original post; every moment you are NOT in your car is a moment of peace and safety.

Smile Driving

I disagree ~ I love driving, that's why I have the vehicles I choose to have and why I still ride Motocycles in spite of twice being crippled by Moto crashes .

YOU as an individual choose to embrace life or be afraid .

I agree with that, though I did quit riding motorcycles. My last bike was a BSA Victor, a 441 cc single cylinder. Twice on the freeway, I had cars changing lanes right at me. Just too weird. Plus, the drawbridges in Seattle have a steel grating for a lot of the roadway surface, not a problem in an auto but a motorcycle will do an unsettling short of weird shimmy. Never piled up from it or even really came close, but it freaks you out nonetheless. Someday if I get a Jay Leno style garage i’d like to get a Bultaco 250 and cherry it out.

A Suzuki X6 would also be a lot of fun. I drove one of those when I was 15. In New Mexico they let you get a “scooter license” when you were 13.

Motos And Motocycling

A BSA Victor, sweet .

I'm also on a bunch of Moto forums and I'm amazed at how many fail to grasp that someone who chooses a different ride than you do, isn't automatically a poof .

I only had a couple Brit bikes, they were fun and all but I mostly like twins and oil tight and break free ones at that .

These days I can hardly ride my old 1975 BMW R60/6 and the upcoming 'Lucas Prince Of Darkness Ride' across the Mulholland Highway is no longer fun in the dark for me....

Is that Suzuki X6 the "Hustler" 260 C.C. twin with 6 speed box ? . I had one for a while, even two up it was startlingly quick .

I maybe should have kept it .

I don't much like two smokers though .

Exclamation Reality Check

I know no one here is going to like this but after watching the deranged 18 Y.O. kid kill 10 and injure 3 more in Buffalo, New York I'd mention that ALL of these shooters are middle class alt white guys, not a liberal among them .

I'm *extremely* Conservative so this bothers me greatly .

With freedom comes great responsibility .

Talking And, He's Off and Running

Yes ! the wild West was good and no one ever was hurt or killed who didn't need it right ? .

I don't think you're a bad person but you really need to decide not to be afraid anymore, more guns are not the answer .

! are you seriously suggesting everyone should be armed ? .

You are really ignorant .

Maybe you should go live somewhere where everyone carries guns and the cops don't care .

Been there, did than and didn't like it much .

Live IS NOT A MOVIE NOR VIDEO GAME .

By the way : the GREAT state of TEXAS (I love it there but don't want to live there) is trying to abolish public education , I wonder if you think that's a good idea too ? .

The video says it's a long gun but it looks like a sawed off shot gun to me .

The odds of getting into a bad situation are not that high on average. Unless you go looking for it. Or do things that are not the brightest. One does have to accept any risk pretty much.

We reside in an are where the risk is minimal. That is no guarantee nothing will ever happen. It just further reduces the chances it will.

There is no solution. It is just part of the culture. So I think little can be done about it.

The problem in the highly developed cities of Canada is becoming kids with guns. Caught with illegal firearms they are just given a court date somewhere in the future and turned loose. Penalty in the court eventually is just a slap on the hand.

At least if they even attempted to make it a heavy fine cost might help a little. Of course the problem grows as things are.

Great society. Most moms and dads work today. Children need structure they are not getting. It probably is a huge socio-economical problem. All countries do not have it. North America may be wealthy in some ways but poor in others. We have good education for some. At the same time very poor for many. If not the majority today. Inequalities are not restricted to race.

Good people with guns have the ability to stop a bad guy with a gun. UNARMED good people don't stand a chance against a bad guy with a gun.....

This.

1. The police cannot be everywhere at all times.

2. The government will not always be standing next to you when you are out and about to provide for your safety and security. You are responsible for your own safety and security.

3. There will always be nut-jobs walking the streets. They are standing in line next to you at the Wal-mart check out stand.
