The sending address is likely spoofed. If you block it, you'll likely get the same message from another address. Paypal has two factor authorization, which you should be using. Logon to your Paypal account, and hit the little "gear" button on the upper right. Select security, then two factor authorization. Once you turn it on, anyone who wants to access your Paypal account would not only need your password, they would also need your cell phone. The downside is that you also will always need your cellphone to use Paypal.

Not to mention give up your cellphone # to Paypal.

Block what? You can't effectively block spoofed e-mails, because the sender likely uses dozens of different e-mail addresses. If you're a member of Paypal, you can't block them in any meaningful way and still use your account. If you're not a member, they shouldn't be sending you e-mails.

I am a member but don't want to be as they have lost my trust.

On the web:
Go to Settings. Click Close your account under "Account options." Click Close Account. The above is how paypal says to close account.

I was getting these. And I mean several every day. So I went to PayPal and pulled out everything but five bucks. That way they can do their worst and get rejected every time.
And my account is still there if I ever need to use it. |

Why do you have anything tied in? I use PP but they don't hold any of my funds.

I don't get it. You tried to delete your account? Or something else? Fake confirms have nothing to do with Paypal. They're scams with fake links and logos, generated from spoofed addresses. Don't click, don't respond. As long as you don't click the link or call the number, they can't harm you. Nothing you do to or with your actual paypal account can stop them from arriving.

If you hover over the sender it will show the email address. I get the same message from many different email addresses. They hack my relatives accounts and send me fake messages with their names in the subject but the sender is bogus.
