Sorry man, makes me wanna cry. We love or lab and springer so much it hurts! I hope you guys are doin okay.

Maybe your dog will hook up with my old springer "Fergie"(1990-1992 drowned) in doggy heaven!

I know we will be crushed when it happens to one of ours. They go where we go and sleep on the bed. My Molly loves her ears scratched too. One also can't help but love a dog that can get on top of the fridge

Ask me about that one when you are ready for some humor!

Take care,

Condolences

Sorry to hear about your dog. We certainly know how you feel having been through the same thing more than once. Last year we had to have our 15 year old bull terrier put down. He was part of the family. We had gotten him when we lived in Swaziland and he had traveled back and forth across the ocean with us several times. If you have not seen the Rainbow Bridge then type in and search for one of the links, I think you will like it.
Hope to see you on Saturday at the GTG, still not sure we will make but hope so.

Hope you feel better - I know how dogs can acutally become members of the family. We lost our last springer spaniel about 4 months ago. The house just seems empty and I still think of her everyday.

One thing that has worked for me over the years is to have an artist do some original artwork of your dog when she is in her prime. I have two very nice watercolor renditions of our two springer spaniels that are hung in the living room. Somehow seeing them everyday over the fireplace makes me feel warm inside. Its NOT the same as having them around but it does help me.

Think about it next time around.

Tim

I lost Louie in January. He is in heaven. I got an older dog, Chia, who I love very much.
The more time I spend with dogs, the less I neeed a fancy car and time with humans.

Thanks everyone for the comments. My dog dying didn't hit me as hard as our other dog that died 9 years ago. The other dog was the one I grew up with as a child, and having him die was a huge blow to my emotions.

With this one, I am deeply saddened, but relieved that she dies in her sleep, and relieved I didn't have to have her put down. None of us could bring ourselves to have her put down.

Again, Thanks for all the comments and support.

Alon
