I went on a blind date in college once. My good friend's girlfriend was good friends with this chick, and set us up.

She was a dance major at Cal State Fullerton, and I was a Linguistics major.

She was hot, I think Italian American, but had very light skin, black hair, and hazel eyes.

At the time, I was a skinny 19 year old with no self-esteem, and thought she was out of my league, but she seemed to be into me anyway, and we hit it off from the get go.

On the first date, things were going great, and she took me back to her dorm room.

Things got hot and heavy real fast, and I frankly wasn't mentally prepared for it I guess. I was thinking that she had known me for barely two hours, and we were just about getting ready to do the hokey pokey.

It was at this moment that I noticed she had an unusual "discharge" down there, and that there was a slight unpleasant odor.

I freaked out, went into the bathroom, and washed my hands. I exited the head, blurted out a lame excuse, and high-tailed it outta there.

I never talked to her again, and I suppose I hurt her feelings as I never got in touch with her again. Like I said, I was an idiot.

As a 37 year old, I now realize that what she probably had was nothing more than a simple yeast infection, but as a stupid 19 year old, it was a traumatic experience.

I like all of these stories citing great blind date stories and then stating not to expect anything. By reading this, I would think I am finding my future wife.

The last blind date I went on was a disaster. The girl was 6'2" (I'm 5' 10"), didn't have any good convo, and she didn't eat. One of the most awkward nights of my life.

Go on and go for it though, doesn't hurt to try

She was so ugly when she cried the tears came out her ears to keep from crossing her face.

Maybe not event that. Some women have thick discharges that are almost slimy when they are near their period. If you ever think it is yeast, try making some dough and rubbing the discharge on the bread and see if it rises like yeast should make it.

Yeah, I'm very familiar with what you are describing. In going through 7 years of infertility treatment with my wife, I learned more about the female reproductive system and menstrual cycle than I ever wanted to know.

Just before ovulation, the mucous in the vaginal area is very thick and viscous. Fertility doctors and embryologists will liken it to egg-white.

This is actually the moment when a woman can get pregnant, as that is the fluid that the sperm swims in up the felopian (sp.???) tubes.

This fluid is quite normal, and is not at all offensive.

My wife has had a yeast infection early in our marriage, and once you've seen one, they are easy to identify.
