During a lighthearted conversation I shared among fellow musicians, someone brought up an interesting piece of trivia...he mentioned that the Muppet character, "Animal" was loosely based on Mick Fleetwood...including his drumming style!

Yes, and the actual drumming that you were hearing when Animal was "playing" was a guy named Hal Blaine.

He was a very in-demand studio drummer for several decades, playing on an astounding number of records, TV shows, etc....

I was thinking of a show I saw a while back on which they interviewed Mickey about his drum collection. Those guys in the Grateful Dead were/are tryly talented.

Jerry Garcia could and did play almost every kind of music.
