hmmm, That is very interesting. Any chance that it is not an OEM accessory? The part numbers just don't seem uniform with other MB parts. Neat part none the less.

The steel jerrycans weren't available in the US due to rules about transporting & storing gasoline in the trunk. MB made them to fit within the spare tire rim and also made a version that fit in the trunk well behind the rear wheel.
