I still have mine. I am 19... with bigger than average size tonsils, and as a kid had a hard time swallowing. But over time, its gotten better and now is to a point it doesn't affect me at all.

Nope, I had a sore throat so they yanked em out. I will never forget riding in the cage to the OR and the mean nurses afterwards. Putting kid's under that kind of trauma over BS like that should be illegal.

Here's a wierd one. May not get much response, but here goes.
Was talking with someone the other day about sickness and stuff. 'Tis the season. Anyway, the subject of tonsils came up. I guess they don't yank them out like they used to "back then". I had mine out at 3 years old (1959) Do you still have yours? If not, when did you have them out?

What is UP with these weirdly arranged threads?!?!
Still have mine. I've heard a rumor that they actually serve a purpose for the immune system. Funny how MDs are so quick to say "Well, I don't know what it does, let's take it out and throw it away!"
I also have my spleen and my appendix. But, have had some really horrible medical experiences in my life, most before the age of 14. My theory on keeping healthy is to stay out of a doctor's office, and if I have to go in, go armed to the teeth with medical references on just about everything that can possibly fit my symptoms and question EVERYthing and demand clear and complete explanations. Yeah, my doc loves me. But, hey, I'm hiring the doc. Not the other way around. I don't have to do what I'm told.(Can you tell I felt really pissed off at doctors when I was a kid?) Anyhow, when MDs use the phrase "life saving" about something, I immediately replace that with "life extending". No one here is immortal. Oops, except maybe SPOCK. Or is Bard II?
