Getting from Newark airport to Wayne, N. J. ??
I'll be attending a class in Wayne, N. J. the last week of Jan. '04.
Flying into the Newark Airport. I've looked at driving directions from the airport to Wayne at various web "map" sites. There are all sort of ambiguous directions and I know there's gotta be a relatively straight-forward route from the car rental places at the airport to Wayne. Would appreciate advise from the members here who are familiar with this area. Thanks for your time.

I think the "confusion" you're experiencing is the number of road switches from EWR, given the construction in the area, and the number for intersecting roads (GSP, Route 22, US-1, etc.) Yahoo Maps does a nice job, but you'll also get directions from the car rental folks. About the only nice thing about Wayne . . . Costco/PriceClub

I gotta ask.....
I see from your signature that you are a few thousand miles west of Wayne, NJ. How come you know about all the road construction?

Depends where you are in Wayne
I would go,
1. Follow signs to Garden State Parkway. 2. Go Parkway north to route 3 west. 3. Follow route 3 west to route 46 west to route 23 north. Alternative method: NJ Turnpike North, to the west extension. Take route 3 west, I think the exit is 16 W. Route 3 west to 46 to 23 ....... Where exactly are you going in Wayne. Good luck, JCD PS, There is nothing nice about Wayne. |

My wife is from Mountainside and the Garden State and EWR is very familiar to me. For a real laugh, listen to guitarist John Pizzarelli (Bucky's son) sing, in various styles, "I Like Jersey Best" and in particular, the number of shoe stores on Route 22.

JCD:
Thank you for the directions. I may be going to a company named Circle Computer Group located at 65 Willowbrook Blvd. My step-son t-boned a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup with his 2002 Honda Civic new years eve. He's hurt and needs attention now, so this may not happen. Drivers side air bag saved his life. I now believe in them. Though the Honda's front-end was badly damaged, I was surprised how no part of the engine compartment found it's way to the cab. I was also surprised how much damage the Ford PU incurred. The Honda was traveling at approx. 65mph. The PU driver pulled out from a side road into a 2 lane highway where my step-son was driving. The PU driver was a 17 yr. old in a hurry to get to a party. Fortunately our grand-daughter had just been dropped off at my house.

Sorry about the wreck
Hope everyone is OK.
If you make the trip, follow the directions leading to the Garden State and then instead of going off on route 23, continue on Route 46. Willowbrook Mall is just off 46 and I'm sure that is near where your destination is. Again, glad everyone is OK. Take care, JCD |
