205 in 55 zone ticket

Quote:
205 In A 55?

Bill Weir left unbelievers in his wake after we reported he had cracked 200 mph in his modified C5 convertible, and with the top down. Recently, we saw "200-mph Bill," a 6’6" former Houston Oilers professional football player, at a car show in Amarillo, Texas, where he told us about a speeding ticket he'd received for "205 in a 55." We wanted to see the ticket. Bill obliged, pulling out the green speeding ticket. Sure enough, the officer had written 205 mph for the violation. We wondered why Bill was still with us and not either in jail or suffering a worse fate, maybe on a chain gang somewhere. Fortunately, the officer knew Bill and explained, "You know, you could go to jail for this." The saving grace was that Bill was a mile and a half outside his county line. So, they didn’t take him to jail. He did pay a hefty $375 fine. We're still gathering information on how much horsepower it takes to pull a C5 to 200 mph, but we have learned that the C5 is quite a bit more aerodynamic than the C4 and takes less horsepower to reach the magic double C-note. — Jerry Heasley

Yea that’s some wind, I wonder if there's any kind of vacuum going on and that must be a heavily modified C5

To say the least...

I'd be afraid of a blowout at that speed....he'd be thrown 1/4 mile down the road!

BTW, his a$$ would be in jail here in GA, no ifs ands or butts!

I WOULD like to be the one driving a C5 that fast!
I would NOT like to be the one getting that ticket! Ouch.

120 will put you in jail here, unless they like your car and you take them for a spin when they get off duty.

Fines vary pretty widely from state to state.

205!!!???

How many of us non-racing drivers can manage to keep a car under control at that speed???!

And there are a bunch who brag and drool over our cars with high top speeds only to piss in our pants if we see the other side of 100mph!

In Massachusetts, if he were not charged with any offense other then speeding (an unlikely occurance) the speeding violation would be $1,450.00 alone.

Years ago, I had my old Camaro over 150mph a couple of times....That was pretty crazy...It felt like the car was almost "floating"...probably was! If I had attached a couple of wings to each door, the thing probably would have flown! hahaha....

Hey, my wife did 115 in a 35. I had to post bail. I paid the judge's bill with contempt and told him to "keep the change."

Sounds to me that both you and your wife need some help.Contempt for the Judge when caught doing 115 in a 35 zone? sounds like your your life lessons will be hard learned! I'm sure she had scout cars ahead of her making sure there were no children playing in that 35 mph zone.........
