You're very welcome, sir.

You posted your first request for assistance on March 4th in multiple forums, including this one, on directions to remove your door panel. You got a response on March 9th in the SL forum from bwheitman. To say that members here are unresponsive is untrue and insulting. Once again, you are very welcome, sir.

lets talk

I did see the replys to the posts but they didnt help out at all, thats why i posted again. and yes i posted all over the forum to try and get some one to help.

And yes i do think it is somewhat far to say that members here are unresponsive. I take part in a few different forums in my area and posts are always answered. if the person looking at the post cant help he will tell you who to talk to or where to go. So im sorry that you feel its insulting but i find it insulting that it was over a week till someone helped out. and ya you may think im an ass for saying that but you know what do bad. If everyone in life sat around and just watch things happen nothing would get done. what is this forum for if not to get and give help?

Yes you’re right and yes as I said I may sound like a dick but one thing I will say is:

Don’t poke the bear unless you want to deal with it.

Maybe I wouldn’t have been a dick had I now gotten accused of spam.

In defense of my fellow Mercedesshop members, I would have to say that they are some of the most responsive forum members on the subject of Mercedes . . . and tax relief . . . and strange things to eat . . . bar none. Try posting your query on other Mercedes boards and tell me how many cricket chirps you hear before you get a response. I would venture that the cost savings achieved through forum members help and contributions is probably over $1M, though we probably spent as much on new tools, Leatherique, Topsiders and Mobil 1.

Buy the CD manual. Its probably a few hundred dollars for a 140 car.

What aare you taking the panel off for? I'm guessing winder' regerlater.

I have taken the door panels off many MBs, but not a 140 car. My advise: look at it long enough and poke around- you will figure it out.

As for the lack of replies to your post, I'm going to guess that most '99 140 owners don't work on their own cars.

edit- CD roms are on ebay for ~$300. Better buy one if you plan to start taking things apart on that beast.

good luck.

Not enough responses hugh? Well grab the handle, brace your foot against the door and pull with all you've got!

I don't think there are many W140 owners that have done this; have you done a search? It just might be that nobody knows.
