Here's an interesting politcal stance test...

and it seems to be pretty accurate, for me at least.

On Non-Fiscal Issues, I rank as a Centrist (40).
On Fiscal Issues, I rank as a Moderate Conservative (76)

My score:

On Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Strong Conservative (81).

The Warden 04-16-2004 03:47 PM

My score:

On Non-Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Moderate Liberal (33).
On Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Moderate Liberal (35).

Sounds about right...

AustinsCE 04-16-2004 04:06 PM

On Non-Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Moderate Conservative (71).
On Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Moderate Conservative (61).

Close enough

DslBnz 04-16-2004 04:14 PM

On Non-Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Moderate Conservative (63).
On Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Centrist (49).

Same as the last political test I took. Pretty accurate I'd say. At least I'm not off the walls.

chazola 04-16-2004 05:07 PM

Non Fiscal: Strong liberal

Fiscal: Moderate liberal

who'd have guessed it eh? :)

Botnst 04-16-2004 05:17 PM

Stupid, two-dimensional reduction of multidimensional problem.

What is a "liberal" or "conservative" in its lexicon? What about people (like me) who score in the fifties but have very strong opinions on a few of the issues presented, but don't see my views accurately presented in the questions?

Bah!

...critical thinking will get you no where young man.

kerry 04-16-2004 06:25 PM

Non-fiscal--85
Fiscal--85

Strong conservative on both.

Botnst 04-16-2004 06:36 PM

Kerry is a conservative? Nyah, nyah!

I'm a frigging centrist, fer cryin' out loud. I'd rather be a commie!

...as someone who's designed surveys and questionnaires for a living, that test looks like it was put together by an 8th grade political science class. Way way WAY too many mixed/unlike options under each heading*. I'd give it a D+, and tell the class to do the project over if they want to get a grade for their effort.

*Each of the questions could/should have had a series of Attitude scales with Likert-type statements:

The Patriot Act is an overextension of government and an invasion of our privacy. The government should not have this much power to track its citizens.

On Non-Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Centrist (41)
On Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Moderate Conservative (64)

GermanStar 04-16-2004 07:10 PM

Bot -- Z -- I think you're missing the point. This is simply an exercise to explore disparity. Don't you see? Try it -- it's just plain fun! ;)

Lebenz 04-16-2004 08:26 PM

I thought it tedious. I gave up after 3 sets of questions...

sfloriII 04-16-2004 08:40 PM

On Non-Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Moderate Conservative (71).
On Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Moderate Conservative (71).

At least I'm consistant!

I do agree with others that the test itself is poorly written.
