How Might I Turn Off This Irritating Beep?

I recently bought a 1988 230E whose previous owner was quite elderly and not a little deaf.
Previous owner had a 'beep' connected to the indicators to remind him to turn off the indicators if he left them on.
As you might imagine, this is rather irritating to an able eared person like myself.
Anyone got any ideas on how I might disengage this bothersome beeping?

I if I was going to jury rig something like that, I'd tap into the lead from the little box that controls the 'on/off' action for the turn signal bulbs. It might have been connected to the right and left bulb leads too. Find the location of the beeper(s) and just cut the wires to it.
