You want Optima 34 red top or Optima 35 yellow top?
Optima D31M is a Marine and Truck (as in big truck not SUV) battery.

I live in Canada and getting an OPTIMA battery is difficult where I live. I called the Canadian Distributor - East Tenn/Power Battery 1-800-668-9303 - and they quoted me the following prices:

$350.00 Canadian for the D31T Yellow Top
$280.00 Canadian for the 34/78 Red Top

My alternative is COSTCO. Here is what they have and prices:

Model - 75/35
Color - Red Top
Terminal - Red Top Dual Top & GM Side
Volts - 12

Model - D34M 750
Color - Blue Top
Terminal - SAE Auto & 5/16" Stud
Volts -12
AH - 55
CA - 870
CCA - 750
RC - 120
L - 10.0
W - 6.8
H - 7.8
Lbs - 44
USD Price - $156.25
Price - $207.99 Canadian

Model - D34/78 -D750U
Color - Yellow Top
Terminal - Dual - Top & GM Side

If I don't buy an OPTIMA then another option COSTCO has is the KIRKLAND SIGNATURE LINE BATTERIES:

Item - 207180
BCI Group Size - 65
Price - $88.99 Canadian ($55 USD)
Cranking Amps @ 32ºF - 1000
Cold Cranking Amps - 875
Reserve Capacity - 165

Limited Warranty
• 24 months free replacement
• Up to 84 months prorata

or

Item - 207230
BCI Group Size - 34/78DT

What do you guys suggest?

Have you considered the factory route -- around $150 CAD perhaps? Have seen good feedback here for MB & Interstate.

Warranty on the factory battery is not great and I may be putting the car away for 4 months in storage during winter.

Kirkland battery's are junk, the po put one in my Camry and it leaked acid all over the place. I would buy either an Interstate or an OE. The Mercedes battery's are nice, their made in Spain and seem to be sealed well.

Btw if you are going to store the car for a few months you should take the battery out and keep it in a place that will not get below freezing. Also throw a charger on it once and awhile.

Try www.batteryweb.com 1-877-746-2288(8 am - 5 pm Mon-Fri EST), thats where I got mine from. Optima batteries can be shipped because they don't leak or spill.

The Interstate battery is about $160-$170 Canuck-bucks, and is an awesome battery. No fit problems like the Optima and great warranty. It's essentially the OE battery with a much bettery warranty, but no fancy "Star" on it.

Not sure what the problem is - I think any of the 34 or 3R redtops will fit.

It's not the same size group as what is called out for a CE- but there is lot's of room. I purchased one this week. I think mine was a 34/70Y or something...

Just go measure your battery tray and the max height... easier than asking.

Aren't Interstate and Kirkland the same ,they have the same external construction and are made by Johnson Control Inc.?????????

Has anybody used the EXIDE ORBITAL battery (or Canadian Tire NASCAR Orbital, same thing) that has the gel battery but the 4 posts(choose 2),can be used anteriorly or posteriorly.unlike the Optima

Just found out that Walmart has OPTIMA batteries. They have 2 Red Top Models. Today's a Holiday so I'll check them out tomorrow.

Model - 34/78
Price - $139.96 vs Costco's $152.99 Canadian
If this one fits then I believe I will buy it.
