You want Optima 34 red top or Optima 35 yellow top? Optima D31M is a Marine and Truck (as in big truck not SUV) battery. |

Have you considered the factory route -- around $150 CAD perhaps? Have seen good feedback here for MB & Interstate.

Warranty on the factory battery is not great and I may be putting the car away for 4 months in storage during winter.

Not sure what the problem is - I think any of the 34 or 3R redtops will fit. It's not the same size group as what is called out for a CE- but there is lot's of room. I purchased one this week. I think mine was a 34/70Y or something... Just go measure your battery tray and the max height... easier than asking. Michael

If you are going to store the car for 4 months then put a trickle charger on it and/or remove the battery as has been previously suggested. Complete discharge = death to any lead acid battery. Even deep cycle batteries are only resistant to this up to a point. This is the most important thing to know about lead acid batteries. Keep them charged up and they will last a long time. If you let it go to zero then it is a goner. MP

The Interstate battery is about $160-$170 Canuck-bucks, and is an awesome battery. No fit problems like the Optima and great warranty. It's essentially the OE battery with a much bettery warranty, but no fancy "Star" on it.
