1993 320 E , can't beleive it!

Replaced the OVP, replaced the ETA, wiring harness in good condition replaced by the previous owner. Car started great after the new ETA and a mile later started limping once again, cutting off a cylinder or more.
What shouuld I replace now? It's starting to get expensive and my wife it's losing hope on the old MB. I love the car but I got to get it running right soon.

Any ideas what could be messing up? Gracias amigos por su ayuda.

I would say it's time for some more capable diagnostics - the best you can find.

Could it be a bad coil causing it to misfire and then cut the injector off?
Anyone has any ideas, crankshaft position sensor?
Bad spark plug?
I'm sure someone on this formu has a pretty good idea what could be the culprit, the expensive stuff has been replaced, I hope.

I've seen you guys post the instructions to making the tool. I need to buy the banana plugs the switch and the diode then I will be set. Any info you can give me other than that I'll appreciate it.

Cool..
You can access the emissions codes from the box if yours has the built-in led/sw, but that will just get you CE lamp tripping codes
However , once you make the tool , yo can go into pin 8 and get ignition/fuel HFM managment codes This will be a ggod indicator to whats going on
Then go to pin 14 ..AE/CC ETA codes..
let us know what u find .....

Here is a simple basic one that is specific to your chassis..RS stuff
Bannana neg {blk]willl go to pin 1
bannana pos [ red] will go to pin 16
Odd color will be the code probe [ the one you will use for different modules,
in your case , go to 8 and 14....]

Hi, I have not followed what has occured to your car before this thread, but I have had problems every summer when ambient temp is high. Especially in stop and go traffic, the car turned into limp mode. I have got lots of advice through this forum, but never really believed any of them as the cure. (Eventhough they have been of great help to make me understand my car in general and for future problems).
Some weeks ago when the car turned into limp mode I discovered that if I used the cruise control it worked again! Which in my mind rolled out most of the suspects and I took some WD40 (?) and sprayed the gas linkage. Since then the car has worked fine!
I cross my fingers that it was the cure, and in any case, try if the CC will help your car out of the limp mode and you are in a more narrow range to search for the problem...

Thanks for the input, my CC unit is brand new from the box, I installed it yesterday and as soon as finished installing it, I went out with the wife, not 2 miles later the car started limping again. The ETA/CC unit going to fail very soon so I'm not upset about replacing it. The wiring at the pigtail into the unit was shot, all the wire insulation was dry and crumbled when I cut into it.
I will try what you have suggested as well as cheking for codes that may pinpoint the problem. I love the car if I could just keep it running as it was designed it would be great. My wife would really be happy

For your information, my car gave no codes at all, even when we got it into limp mode with the star diagnose computer connected!
Hope you will find out what is going on, since you are right, these cars are great when stupid problems like this are not making us crazy...
