I constantly see shift knobs for MB's listed on ebay. They have zebrano, burl, or the regular ones usually for sale.
Thanks
David

To remove the knob, simply rotate the little collar at the bottom of the know. It will open up and the knob will pull right off. 15 second job the first time through.

This is news to me...has MB changed the shifters recently?

The swap I did on the W124 (and plan to do on the other two MBs) consisted of a wooden knob fixed to a chromed steel shaft with a nut on the end of the shaft. Swapping out required removal of the console panel in order to gain access to the nut on the shaft...not quite a 15-second job!

But I don't own a C-class so maybe they are indeed that easy...

...and I got mine at www.************************

thats how the older cars were like. to install a new shift knob on those u would have to buy a shaft adapter.

What year did MB go the the "newer" style? My 95 R129 and 99 W163 appear to have the same type of shifter as on my 93 W124...

Both your 129 and 163 have new style shift knobs. 140's 202's, 129's on are equipped with such knobs.

Great! That makes the decision on what to mod first MUCH easier now!
